Meet Venice!

This is my first post in the “session series”. I will be letting you in on the details of what happens during selected shoots. Who better to kick start the series than little Venice, the winner of our recent competition!

It was so lovely to hear about the story of when our model’s parents first found out they’ve won the shoot. They had a little get together at home and one of the ladies who nominated Rach, Venice’s mum, to be the winner, was actually with her when she heard the news.

I was a bit hesitant when I found out Venice was already a month old, when her mom won the competition and our free newborn photo shoot giveaway. I don’t usually photograph babies over one month old, and I always suggest to my clients to book their sessions as soon as they had their first scan, but this was not the case here. Venice’s lovely mum convinced me that her little Pumpkin is still very sleepy and will be a breeze to photograph. I decided to go wild and go ahead with the session, and boy was that a good decision!

Venice was a natural. She soldiered through the session half awake, as she did not want to miss a thing. With no poop in sight on any of my props, she is more than welcome back anytime 😉

Every time I came too close with my huge lens, she was giving me “the look”, as in to say: “What do you think you’re doing with this in my face?! Bring me milk and pronto!” We had a laugh, as her facial expressions were priceless.

We couldn’t wrap up the session without a little bit of black and white action!
