Maternity and bump sessions – what to expect

If you are currently pregnant you may feel as though you want this time to be over, especially on a hot, summers day, being in your third trimester. You cannot to meet your little Pumpkin, but more than anything, you yearn for a glass of white wine spritzer. Whatever it may be you are going through now, this time in your life is pretty amazing. You are making a human! From scratch!

In between swollen legs and rapidly expanding lower abdomen, you will have moments, when you sit down and wonder what will they look like, and feel happy to have them so close to your heart. Maternity glow is a thing. It really happens. Not because it takes you half the time it used to to sweat like crazy, just getting out of the car. It’s because you are creating a new life. Those are your baby’s first moments. Why not capture them with a maternity bump session? When your baby is out, they are out. You won’t get this time back. As much as you may not enjoy it at times now, those are your baby’s first months, they are definitely worth remembering.

When to book your maternity bump session:

The best time to have a maternity bump session is between week 32 and 36 of your pregnancy, when you still feel pretty mobile and not resentful towards any sort of movement except for a masseuse moving their hands all over your tired legs. You can book your maternity bump session as early as after your first scan.

What to expect during your maternity bump session:

I usually do the session in the studio. Upon request and providing the weather is nice, we can do a part of the shoot outdoors too. I provide the gowns but you are free to bring your own too. Most of my moms-to-be like to have at least a few classy, timeless nude images. Those are done in studio. I am happy to do retouching on any stretch marks / tattoos should you wish to, but as those are a part of our journey, I always want to make sure this is what you’d like.

Partners and your children are always welcome during the session.

Specific colours / sizes of gowns and maternity dresses can be ordered free of charge for your session, please get in touch for more information.

Maternity sessions at Dinky Feet are the beginning of your babies journey. Capture those memories and start building their biography now <3
