She believed she could so she did.

Being a photographer means spending a lot of your time with other photographers, talking photos. Current styles, but also photography in the pre-photoshop days. A couple of weeks back, whilst chatting with Sue Black of Sue Black Photography, we went a bit off our usual subject of babies and food, and funny mugs bearing wisdom written using offensive language, and somehow stirred on to a bit more profound subject: our parents.

My Only New Year Resolution.

I am going to be 34 years old in a few days time. I thought we may as well get it out of the way, to avoid the delusion that this post is going to be about healthy living and getting enough sleep and vitamins. I am old enough to realise this is most likely not going to happen. Neither am I going to reactivate my gym membership.

Bye Bye 2016! It was a pleasure.

As I nail my second plate of pierogi (traditional polish dumplings, come stuffed with meat, cheese or fruit, amazing stuff), on the 41st floor of Warsaw’s Intercontinental Hotel*, I ponder. The end of the year is upon us, but somehow it doesn’t feel like a new beginning. It doesn’t feel as though there should be some major changes happening from the first of January. I have given up on the miracle lifestyle changes and diet shifts. My occasional presence at a yoga class is always heavily facebooked, so that I actually believe I am exercising. This will have to suffice. Life is actually pretty ok.

Poppy, Daisy and Posey’s cake smash

I first got contacted by my lovely models’ mom, Sinead, a while back. She enquired about a cake smash session for her 3 beautiful girls: Daisy, Poppy and Posey. I was over the moon, as I had never photographed triplets, not to mention three girls! I got even more excited, when I had a sneak peek at Sinead’s facebook profile. Her girls were adorable! I couldn’t wait for the session! I replied back with my session availability.

First year in pictures

Over the last year I have been privileged to follow my models from their first, newborn photos, when they could still easily fit in my hand, throughout their milestones, when they could sit up unsupported, up to their first birthday photos, when they were happy to crawl away at the speed of light (some even walk!) and cover me and my camera with their birthday cake, whilst giggling like mad.

Composite images and babies flying on clouds.

This year has seen my work evolve and follow a bit more of a creative path. I recently posted a few images that are very different from my usual style. I love black and white and simple, classic and timeless photography, not too posed, focused solely on your baby, but I had a feeling it was time to shake things up a little, and that’s why I created a few composites.
